PASTORAL CARE

Prayer Shawls

Church members who can knit or crochet prayerfully create beautiful shawls for new mothers in the congregation, for members who are sick or injured, and for those who are grieving.

Meals

When church members are sick, injured, or disabled, the Outreach committee coordinates people to prepare and deliver meals to their homes. When families have new babies, the Guild of the Christ Child brings a fresh, home-cooked dinner or brunch to their home.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors

A group of lay members are trained and licensed by the bishop to deliver and administer communion to members who are unable to attend services in person.

Cards, Calls & Flowers

Every month, members of the Episcopal Church Women sign and send cards to those church members who are unable to attend services because they are ill, disabled, or living in long-term care facilities.

Every week, members of the Flower Guild remix the altar flowers into smaller arrangements and then hand-deliver them to members who are sick or bereaved, or who are celebrating a milestone such as a birthday, an anniversary, or a new baby.

On an ongoing basis, members of the Parish Life committee reach out by phone to those who are unable to attend services regularly.

Health and Wellness Program

The Health and Wellness Program is part of the Parish’s Outreach Ministry, focussing on physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Through collaboration with community services, we strive to be a trusted source of information for our parishioners as they make life decisions that affect immediate and future needs. Workshop presenters interact with attendees at on-site church sessions and make themselves available for follow-up appointments.

Workshops include in Health Insurance, Understanding Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Associated Disorders, Caregiving workshops, AED trainings, and Legal Estate Planning.
