OUTREACH

St. Francis said, “Preach the Gospel, in words if you must!” At St. David’s we seek Christ in all persons and love our neighbors as ourselves. We take our inspiration from Matthew 25: 35-36: For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited me in; I was naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me.

Here are some ways we serve the wider community:

Weekly Wednesday Sandwich Collection 8:30 a.m. for St. George’s Episcopal Church

We provide sandwiches to St. George’s patrons each week. Last year we donated over 15,000 sandwiches!

Stockings for Stars

We provide gifts for children at Christmas. This is a chance to make a joyous holiday for those who wouldn’t otherwise have one in the Glades.

Blood Drives

We hold semi-annual blood drives in our church parking lot. The next date is February 22nd 8am – 12pm! Join us!

School Supply Drive

We provide supplies for children in Title I (high need) schools.

Toiletry Kits

We provide such items as shampoo, razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, deodorant, mouthwash, washcloths to our St. George’s patrons . These items go into a reusable cloth bag that they can use for other purposes.

Annual Souper Bowl Collection

On Super Bowl Sunday, we collect cans of soup and other non-perishable items for St. George’s.

Grandma’s Place

We hold an annual drive to collect pajamas for the children at Grandma’s Place in Royal Palm Beach.

CROS Ministries

Our Episcopal Church Women (ECW) chapter holds semiannual food drives to help stock this food pantry that supplements the diets of thousands of hungry people in our area.

We also run a few ad hoc projects during the year. For example, we have collected underwear for the young children at Fortin Center in South Bay and have collected overstocked medical equipment for Clinics Can Help, a non-profit that provides free or low-cost equipment to those in need.

If you have an interest in participating in or organizing one of these projects, please call or text Joyce Parker at 561-312-2719
